1st shift: 6:00am - 4:00pm/6:00pm (10-12 hrs), $26.00/ hour
2nd shift: 6:00pm - 4:00am/6:00am (10-12 hrs), $27.00/ hour
You can expect overtime and weekend work, if required.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician/Sheet Metal Inspector. A Sheet Metal Inspector is responsible for examining/inspecting sheet metal components and full assemblies (automovit door, hoods, roof, fenders, body side outers-both assemblies or stamping parts) to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. You will need a keen eye for detail as your will encounter challenges such as identifying subtle defects or insonsistencies in the metal products and surfaces. You will need strong communication skills, as inspectors must document findings and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues quickly.
Job Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Grind, file, sand, and deburr metal surfaces to remove imperfections, such as dents, scratches, or unevenness.
- Defect Identification: Examine metal surfaces to detect defects using tactile and visual inspections. Must have experience in using sheet metal detaction techniques- like running the metal with a flat hand to feel highs and lows in the metal, scratches, bisually looking at the metal surface in the right lighting, etc. Detection tools, like oil stone, sand screening, sponging and high lighting (using oil to highlight material to look like a painted surface.)
- Finishing Operations: Polish, buff, and coat metal surfaces to achieve a specified finish, which may include applying protective coatings or decorative details.
- Tool and Machine Operation: Operate various hand tools, power tools (grinders, sanders), pneumatic tools, and potentially specialized finishing machinery. Must be able to adapt to different inspection tools and technologies to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints and work orders to meet project specifications for surface finish and quality.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on completed work pieces to ensure they meet company standards and customer requirements. Attention to detail is a must.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and the work area to ensure proper functioning and a safe working environment.
- Material Handling: Safely move and transport metal materials and finished products using equipment like hand trucks, carts, or hoists.
- Collaboration: Work with other manufacturing personnel, such as machinists, mechanics, and other team members, to resolve issues and complete projects.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a sheet metal finisher, with a "Class A" designation indicating a high level of skill and proficiency.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with various grinding, sanding, polishing, and buffing tools and techniques.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of different metal properties, finishing processes, and relevant safety protocols.
- Precision: High attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to achieve specific surface finishes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy materials (up to 35-50 lbs) consistently for extended periods.
- Safety: Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
