Pros

Not much pros but talented coworkers.

Cons

I joined expecting a long-term career and initially had a positive experience. Unfortunately, the culture changed significantly after leadership transitions. Micromanagement increased, decision-making became highly centralized, and employee morale steadily declined. Many experienced employees and managers left during my time there, making it difficult to maintain continuity and trust within the organization. The work itself was meaningful, and I had the opportunity to support important projects with talented colleagues. However, recognition, career growth, and employee retention did not appear to receive the same level of attention as process, reporting, and management oversight. My layoff was communicated as unrelated to performance, which was appreciated. However, after years of contribution and institutional knowledge, the overall experience left me feeling that employees were viewed as replaceable rather than valued long-term assets.

Pros

Great company culture with strong long-term stability and career opportunities. Large campus with many internal growth paths, strong leadership, and exciting generational aerospace and defense programs. The company is emphasizing continuous learning and employee development, and the defense industry offers strong job security and resilience even as AI changes other industries.

Cons

Like many large companies, there is constant organizational change and shifting priorities, which can sometimes create uncertainty or slow decision making. However, this is common across most large corporations and comes with the scale and growth of the business.

Pros

Great work life balance Amazing work culture - some of my favorite peers have been Northrop Employees Benefits are really nice Work can be really exciting at times, giving me the opportunity to take ownership over complicated projects and tasking

Cons

Red tape makes speed tough at times. There can be really slow periods for far too long The promotion system is truly terrible. There are no incentives to stay or go above and beyond. They are unreasonably firm on time-in-seat, way too slow to act (they take months), and low ball you on promotional offers. So you could be a high performer for years, but the new-hire with no experience with the company will likely make thousands more than you do. It's backwards, and it's really the only reason I left.
