Pros

Competitive pay and good benefits. Good as a first job out of college to gain experience.

Cons

This is a publicly traded company that operates like a disorganized start up. No processes, no onboarding and no job training. You’ll have to beg your peers to train you. Deceptive hiring practices with lots of false promises. Be prepared to do three jobs and don’t expect your job description to reflect your actual responsibilities. Reece is really big on their corporate values which are fantastic and should create a strong corporate culture however, management doesn’t live these values consistently and only imposes them on subordinates. Toxic work culture causing lots of turnover. Positions are rarely backfilled when someone quits and the work is just dumped on the remaining staff. 25% of employees quit to start their own company. What does that tell you? Reece is a “Good Old Boy Club” of arrogant managers who are “always right”. Leadership is poor and lacks vision, direction or an implementation strategy. Staff is set up to fail then management quickly blames the employee. Avoid!!

Pros

pto, 401k match, showroom teams are like family

Cons

warehouse, supply chain, senior leadership, installation, stocking, purchasing, credit, software, inventory management, lack of instruction and training, lack of support for all lower level employees, lack of transparency from senior leadership, touts "promoting from within" but pigeonholes employees so they cannot be promoted, no transparency within commission reports, tiered commission based on your gross profit and 0 flexibility to help secure better margins, no raises, everything about the company is "in the works" or "in the pipeline" with no real answers to when any issues will be addressed, company keeps buying smaller ventures and diminishing product offerings that make our services unique, trying to become the next Ferguson or Home Depot. Senior Leadership seems to have no idea how difficult our jobs become when arbitrary decisions work for one area and are then applied to the whole company without proper notice or standard operating procedures. Warehouses across the country do not communicate and will rarely send items needed to complete orders due to product lead time volatility. Install coordinators do not coordinate anything, they simply add items to a calendar and the sales team/showroom managers have to fight to make any installs happen. Performance is not rewarded at all and becomes expected based on prior months sales. If you have one stellar month for shipping you will be expected to have continued growth with the same customers and builders. No real sense of knowing what your actual job responsibilities are. Salespeople become customer service/warranty support/delivery drivers due to an unstructured customer service team and warehouse's inability to deliver orders correctly, on time, or complete. Pricing for items is rarely correct in the system and the response from senior leadership is always to "trust the system" Minutiae overtakes all sales and the salespeople take the brunt of the frustration from builders/homeowners who are unhappy with things beyond the control of a salesperson. Process for finding out your commission each month is nonexistent until you receive a check. No breakdown of what orders generated any of the commission just a lump sum that has 0 additional information. No transparency to see what generated commission and at what % you're actually getting paid each month. So many, many, many, more things that slow the sales process down and make it impossible to work quickly and efficiently.
