We’re honoring Women's History Month by spotlighting women from our Women Empowered to be Exceptional (WE2) resource group as they share their hopes for a more equal future. Today we feature Natasha Bond, who, as a mother with a teenage daughter, is very focused on female empowerment: “I have run programs to expose girls to career opportunities, mentorship, and motivational speakers designed to help girls understand how they can and should participate and self-advocate. I also hope that I am an advocate for early-career professional women at Amgen. It is critical that this next generation bring their expertise and approach to creating a more diverse and therefore more innovative dynamic.” Stay tuned for more spotlights throughout Women’s History Month.
Over the last several years the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) department has been joining forces with Amgen's Latin Employee Network (ALEN) to bring the gift of life to patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. This year because of their hard work, Amgen has received the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Community Partner Award. Since the start of our initial partnership in 2017, they have helped provide Children's Hospital, Los Angeles, with the blood products needed for patients. They have registered a total of 698 donors and were able to collect 567 successful units of blood, which can potentially help save up to 1,701 lives. Congratulations to the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) department and Amgen’s Latin Employee Network!
Keeping our staff members engaged in a virtual environment remains a top priority as the COVID-19 crisis continues to unfold. Every new day is an opportunity to learn how we can serve each other, and our patients, better.
Last week we celebrated International Day of Women and Girls in Science. At Amgen, we continue to build a community that helps women in science thrive as leaders and mentors. We are excited to see what the future has in store for women in STEM and we thank them for all the work they tirelessly do to serve our patients.
A huge welcome to our newest cohort of participants in Amgen's Veteran & Veteran Spouse Fellowship Program. The benefits of mentorship are twofold: the mentee and the mentor share experiences that help them both grow their capabilities and skills, as Samantha Fairbairn has learned in her mentoring experience. How have you grown through a mentoring partnership?
“Thrive.” The third & final word of our mantra underscores our commitment to helping staff members grow personally and professionally to reach their full potential. What does ‘thrive’ mean to you?
Collaborating with diverse perspectives drives Amgen Breda's Erwin Bruijnseels & IS colleagues toward better solutions for our manufacturing site and our patients. What motivates you to collaborate with others?
