Diversity is inherent to who we are as a company. That's why we have colleague-led business resource groups dedicated to women, LGBTQ, veterans, multicultural colleagues, rising professionals and colleagues with differing abilities. More than 3,000 colleagues in these groups are focusing on understanding and building upon our diversification as colleagues to strengthen our business and the communities we serve.
Citizens was made ready to give back this holiday season. Even though in-person volunteer activities and collection drives are paused, we're challenging colleagues to complete 5,000 hours of virtual volunteering this week to help our communities.
This year has been filled with unprecedented change and hardships where we have all been tested in ways we never could have imagined. Through it all, our colleagues have demonstrated unconditional dedication to serving our customers and to each other. We're beyond thankful to get to work with our colleagues every day.
At Citizens, we don’t just honor our military and veteran communities during the Veterans’ Month in November. We support them year-round. Whether it’s through our program that donates a home to a wounded veteran annually, our Veterans Business Resource Group or our commitment to hiring veterans, we understand what it means to serve and want to do our part to support those who have given so much. That’s why we’re proud to have been named a Military Friendly employer again this year.
